Legislator seeking letters for troops

State Assemblyman Bill Baroni (R-Hamilton) will lend his legislative office to serve as a clearinghouse for letters sent to New Jersey troops stationed overseas.
Mr. Baroni, whose legislative district includes West Windsor and Plainsboro, invites residents to send letters of support to his office. In a joint effort with Brig. Gen. Glenn Rieth, the adjutant general of the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the letters will be bundled and sent to New Jerseyans stationed abroad.
"New Jersey has thousands of troops who are thousands of miles away from their homes, families and friends," Mr. Baroni said. "This project is a great way for us as a community to show our commitment, appreciation and respect for those men and women serving our country."
Brig. Gen. Rieth said over 18,000 New Jersey residents are now serving overseas and another 4,000 troops are likely to be deployed over the next 18 months.
"I think this letter-writing project is a great way to boost morale," Gen. Rieth said.
Letters may be sent to Assemblyman Bill Baroni, Re: Letters to Our Troops, 2239 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Suite E, Hamilton, NJ 08619 or to [email protected].
