BREAKING NEWS: A Friday night accident sends motorcycle driver and four teens to the hospital.

A 45-year-old township man and five teenagers were injured in an accident on Beekman Road Friday night.
Barrett Habib was headed west on Beekman Road on his 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle at 8:10 p.m. when a 2001 Toyota pulled out from Lori Drive. The driver, Matthew Rubel, 18, was making a left from Lori Drive onto Beekman Road when he cut in front of the motorcycle, police said.
The motorcycle hit the Toyota’s driver’s door shattering the driver-side window and tossing Mr. Habib from his bike onto the roadway, police said. The Toyota rolled approximately 50 feet east on Beekman Road before coming to a stop.
Mr. Habib was transported by Kendall Park First Aid Squad and paramedics to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was listed in critical condition with a broken pelvis, femur and internal injuries, police said. Kendall Park First Aid Squad also transported Mr. Rubel to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with lacerations. Three teenage passengers in Mr. Rubel’s vehicle, James Donoghue, 15, Michael Holder, 16, and Vincent Fedele, 16. were taken to St Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick with cuts, abrasions and complaints of pain.
Traffic was rerouted for about two and a half hours. No summonses have been issued and the accident is under investigation by the South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau. Police are asking anyone with information to call Patrol Officer Mike Rogers at (732) 329-4646.
