Two township residents and one Manalapan man were charged with criminal mischief at 3 a.m. Oct. 6 for allegedly damaging as many as 25 mailboxes in the Timber Pines development.
Police said Matthew Kerr, 18, of South Brunswick, Ari Solomon, 18, of Manalapan and a 17-year-old South Brunswick boy were charged with damaging mailboxes on Dickinson Road, Eleanor and Drexel Hill drives, Shepherd Way and Greyhound Court in the evening of Oct. 5 and the morning of Oct. 6. Police did not release the name of the 17-year-old boy because he is a minor.
Police stopped the suspects’ vehicle on Beekman Road when responding to the call that numerous mailboxes were destroyed in the Timber Pines development. Beekman runs along the edge of Timber Ponds.
Police said that when they pulled the suspects over they found a baseball bat in the car. After interviewing the suspects, police linked them to the destruction of mailboxes.
The three were taken to police headquarters, processed and released pending a court appearance.
