UPDATE: Ferrera wins re-election

By:
Democratic challenger Paul Drake may have won a seat on the Township Committee, beating incumbent Tony Gwiazdowski by 22 votes, 8,150 to 8,128.
With all 31 districts and more than 16,000 votes counted, the two are neck-and-neck in the race which may not be decided until county officials review provisional ballots on Wednesday.
In the other committee race, incumbent Anthony Ferrera outpaced newcomer Michael Goldberg, 8,641 to 7,628 to serve the remaining year on John Souren’s vacated committee seat.
If Mr. Drake is successful in the election, he will be the committee’s lone Democrat.
A total of 16,401 voters participated in the election locally, about 82 percent of registered voters.
See Thursday’s Hillsborough Beacon for complete details on the voting.
