New sign due to work of LEF, Don Hart
By: Mae Rhine
One of the first things that should be on the new, freestanding sign at Lambertville Public School is a hearty "Thank you" to the Lambertville Area Education Foundation and former Lambertville resident Donald Hart.
The sign cost $5,250; the money was donated by LEF. Mr. Hart donated labor and materials and the expertise of his business to construct the footing and install the sign.
The sign will keep students, parents and the rest of the community informed about concerts, performances, science and art events.
Mr. Hart, time and time again, has given back to the city in which he spent so many years. The "good neighbor," as he is termed by LEF, has done much for Lambertville, even though he now lives in Stockton.
The LEF is to be commended for the many things it has done for the Lambertville and West Amwell elementary schools as well as South Hunterdon Regional High School. It has provided money for new and exciting programs that might not otherwise have been possible due to budget constraints.
And its work is enhanced by the help of solid citizens such as Mr. Hart.
