KAREN A. LUND HEPNER, 51, of Union Beach died Nov. 20 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South Amboy, she resided in Keyport and Matawan prior to moving to Union Beach two years ago. Mrs. Hepner was employed at Bayshore Integrated Physicians Association, Matawan, for 33 years. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, Hazlet. She was predeceased by her father, Paul Lund, in 1978. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Boyle of Seabrook, N.H.; her daughter, Jessica Hepner of Union Beach; her sister, Heather Lund of Long Branch; her brother, Christopher Lund of Madison, Ala.; and her companion, Bert Haywood of Union Beach. IRENE PELOSI, 79, of Atlantic Highlands died Nov. 22 at her daughter’s home in the Leonardo section of Middletown. Born in Nanty Glo, Pa., she resided in Highlands and Atlantic Highlands the past 28 years. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jenien Pelosi. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Fred Cole of Leonardo, and Barbara and Frank Christy of Eatontown; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Pat Pelosi of Texas, Richard and Ginger Pelosi of Asbury Park, and Angelo Pelosi of Connecticut; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Burial was at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo.
SARAH JACKOWITZ, 75, of Freehold Township died Nov. 21 at the John L. Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Long Branch. She was a stenographer and bookkeeper at Weston Labs, Eatontown. She was predeceased by her husband, Ben Jackowitz, in 1960. She is survived by her son, Robert Jackowitz, of Long Branch.
ANNA SMERIGA RAC, 88, of Perth Amboy died Nov. 12 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Her husband, John Rac, died in 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Alice Dornish of Bethlehem, Pa., and Jean Rac-Wuensch of Montclair; a son, Ronald J. Rac of Rumson; a sister, Mary Heveri of Rahway; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A service was held at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perth Amboy. Interment was in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hopelawn.
