Flower sale



   Thursday, March 24 through Saturday, March 26 — The Mission Fire Company will host the annual Easter flower sale at the fire station, 51 Groveville Road, Bordentown Township.
   The sale takes place Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until flowers are sold out.
Church services

   Thursday, March 24 —The public is invited to a Maundy Thursday service at the First Baptist Church of Bordentown at 7:30 p.m.
   Friday, March 25 — The Ecumenical Good Friday Service will be held at the Crosswicks United Methodist Church from noon to 3 p.m. The theme will be "The Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross."
   Sunday, March 27 — The First Baptist Church of Bordentown will hold its Easter worship service at 10:15 a.m. The Rev. Jay Rambo will preach an Easter message, the children’s choir and adult choir will provide music. The nursery will be available.
Fish fry



   Friday, March 25 — An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bordentown Elks Lodge, 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown. The meal is sponsored by the Youth Activities Committee.
   Menu: clam chowder, fish, fries, coleslaw, coffee/tea, and dessert. Adults $10; kids (under 12) $5; kids under 5 eat free. Call 298-5938 for reservations.


Veterans’ meeting



   Saturday, March 26 — The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter NJ 899 will hold the monthly meeting at 1 p.m. in the Bordentown Township Senior/Community Center building next to the municipal complex.

Environment event



   Tuesday, March 29 — A storm water management educational forum will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Carslake Community Center, 207 Crosswicks St. Find out how you can help improve the water quality and habitat of local streams and creeks in Bordentown City.
   Topics will include organic lawn care (fertilizers/pesticides), composting, native plants, pet waste, wildlife habitat, water conservation, stream buffers, and more. Learn about how Bordentown City is complying with new federal/state storm water regulations. Call 324-9505 for details.
City Cats

   Tuesday, March 29 — Bordentown City Cats will meet at 7 p.m. at the Carlslake Community Center, 207 Crosswicks St. in the gym.

Soup sale

   Wednesday, March 30 — Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will hold a vegetable beef soup sale at a cost of $4.50 per quart. Pick-up between 3 and 5 p.m. Call 298-3547 to order.
Military appreciation



   Thursday, March 31 — Bordentown Township’s Veterans Advisory Board and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter NJ 899 will sponsor a military appreciation party for the families of deployed soldiers in this area from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Community Center, Municipal Drive, Bordentown Township.

Chinese Auction

   Saturday, April 2 — The Roebling Historical Society will present a Chinese Auction at Holy Assumption’s McGrath Hall, Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Doors open at 5:30 and auction will begin at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Main Gate Museum.
   Admission of $5 will include one sheet of tickets. Additional tickets will sold and a variety of prizes will include Lenox, gift certificates, collectibles, household goods, handmade items, etc. No one under 18 will be admitted. Call 499-7632 for details.
Roast beef supper

   Saturday, April 2 — The Hedding Methodist Church, Old York Road, will hold the annual roast beef supper with seatings at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
   Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and must be reserved in advance by calling 324-0729. Profits from the supper will benefit the mission program at the church.
Feline fund-raiser

   Saturday April 2 — The second annual Bordentown City Cats fund-raiser indoor flea market will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Carslake Community Center auditorium, 207 Crosswicks St. (off Route 130). Many offerings and refreshments will be featured. Bring a picture of your kitty for a surprise. Call 324-3896 for details.
‘Souper’ flea market



   Saturday, April 2 — The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold a "souper" flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School hall and yard in Bordentown.
   Tuna salad or egg salad sandwiches, hot dogs, and home-made soups will be sold. A large selection of articles will be on sale from many vendors. Tables are $10 each, outside spaces are $5. Call Sally at 298-7768 for details.


Monthly social



   Sunday, April 3 — The Widows and Widowers of Burlington County will meet from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Relief Fire House, 1020 Neck Road, Burlington, for a social and dancing to music by Sonny Glenn on the keyboard.

Clothing drive



   Sunday, April 3 — A spring clothing drive will be held from noon to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at the Chesterfield Firehouse, Route 528.
   All good, clean clothing for men, women and children including shoes, pocketbooks, belts, linens, curtains, sheets, blankets and towels are needed. Put clothing in large plastic garbage bags. Call 298-8463 for donation pick-up.
Nicotine Anonymous



   Starting Tuesday, April 5 — Nicotine Anonymous meetings will be held weekly through April 26 on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. at Divine Word Missionary gym (second floor), 101 Park St., Bordentown.
   The free meeting is open to anyone who has the desire to stop using nicotine. You need not have quit to attend. Call 298-1866 for details.
Gallery show



   Wednesday, April 6 through Wednesday, May 18 — The New Jersey Chapter of the American Artists Professional League will present the spring members-only show at the Bordentown Gallery, 204 Farnsworth Ave., and it is open to the public.
   An awards reception, open to the public, is slated Sunday, April 10.
Atlantic City trip



   Thursday, April 7 — Associates of Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter NJ 899 will sponsor a trip to Atlantic City and the bus will leave the rear parking lot at Bordentown Township Senior Center at 9 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.
   Cost is $20 which will be returned by Trump Plaza along with a $3 credit toward the buffet. There will be a 50/50, door prizes and movie on the bus. All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships.

   Friday, April 8 — Christ Episcopal Church, 130 Prince St., Bordentown, will hold the annual Chinese Auction and bake sale at 6:30 p.m.
   A 50/50 raffle, door prizes and free refreshments will be featured. Five dollars buys 20 tickets. Call 298-2348 for details.
Elvis tribute

   Saturday, April 9 — Mark Reno will perform a tribute to Elvis Presley at the Roebling VFW, 10th and Main streets, Roebling, at 8 p.m. Soda and light refreshments included in the $18 ticket. Cash bar will be available.

Atlantic City trip



   Sunday, April 10 — The Knights of Columbus No. 570 will sponsor a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Bus will leave St. Mary’s parking lot at 4:30 p.m. for a four-hour stay at the casino. Cost is $17 per person and $18 back from the casino. Call Bob at 298-5530 for reservations.
Chamber of Commerce

   Wednesday, April 13 — Greater Bordentown Area Chamber of Commerce will meet at 7:30 a.m. in the patio room at Matoris, Route 130 South, Bordentown. Speaker will be Shirley Littleford with Ann Davis of ERA Realty.
