Tide, Fire post soccer wins

   The Florence Tide U-13 girls’ travel soccer team in the SJGSL opened the outdoor season with a 4-0 victory over the TBAA Jags in Blackwood.
   Cayla Bercaw started the scoring with a direct kick 22 yards out. Mandi Barone followed with two goals, assisted by Amanda Lutz, Alyssa Mitchell and Alexandria Fantozzi, who had two assists on the day. Jean Oros finished the scoring for the Tide late in the game with a blast in the lower corner of the Jags’ goal. In goal for the Tide were Cori-Lynn Cubberley and Cayla Bercaw.
   In indoor soccer at International Sports Centre in Mt. Laurel, the Tide defeated the Medford Angels, 7-4.
   For the second week in a row, Alexandria Fantozzi scored four goals and Taylor Bintliff-Green scored two goals while Kelsey Kapica added a single tally. In goal for the Tide were Lorraine Perri and Angela Federico. The Tide are currently in first place.
   U-11 BOYS



   The Florence Fire U-11 boys’ travel soccer team in the SJSL traveled to Woodstown to play under wet and raw elements. Nevertheless, the Fire emerged with a 4-0 victory over the Woodstown Wildfire. Leading the way for the Fire were Ron Lind with two goals, followed by Greg Perri with a goal and an assist, Dalton Craft with a goal, Shawn Carmignani with an assist, and Doug MacArthur with an assist. In goal for the Fire were Zach Ronyack, Dalton Craft and Dakota Benish.
