Earth Day Clean-up
Saturday, April 30 An Earth Day Clean-up of Thorntown Creek from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine. This year will focus on the floodplain behind Ocean Spray. Sturdy shoes and work gloves are recommended. Garbage bags and wheelbarrows provided.
Meet at the corner of Elizabeth Street and rear entrance to Ocean Spray. Parent/guardian must sign waiver for children under 18. Ticket Auction
Saturday, April 30 The Band Boosters of Bordentown Regional High School will hold the annual Ticket Auction at BRHS, 50 Dunns Mill Road, Bordentown. Doors open at 6 p.m. and drawings will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The $5 admission fee at the door includes one sheet of tickets, a beverage and dessert. Refreshments and additional tickets will be available for purchase. No one under 18 will be admitted.
Prizes include tickets to local attractions, gift certificates, autographed collectibles, household goods, etc. The BRHS jazz band will perform during the opening preview. Call 298-5799 for details.
Antique appraisal
Saturday, April 30 The Columbus Grange, 88 Atlantic Ave., will sponsor an antique appraisal. Dr. Lori of Masterpiece Galleries will appraise treasured items from 1 to 4 p.m. There is a $5 admission fee and a $5 per item charge (limit of three items per person). Come early to register. Starting Tuesday, May 3 Nicotine Anonymous meetings will be held every Tuesday in May from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Divine Wood Missionary Gym, second floor, 101 Park St., Bordentown.

Shrimp Night
Friday, May 6 American Legion Post 39 in Roebling will hold "Shrimp Night" from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per serving and includes "you peel" shrimp, potato salad and coleslaw, coffee or tea and dessert. Iris Festival
Saturday, May 7 The Downtown Bordentown Association invites the public to the 9th annual Iris Festival in historic Bordentown City from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
More than 40 fine artists will be featured along with an iris growers’ competition, and an outdoor concert by the B.D. Lenz Jazz Trio from noon to 4 p.m. Free guided tours and al fresco dining will be featured.

‘Moon Over Buffalo’
Through Saturday, May 7 The New Bordentown Community Players will present Ken Ludwig’s "Moon Over Buffalo" on April 29-30, and May 6-7.
Performances will be held at 8 p.m. in the old auditorium under the clock tower at Rancocas Valley Regional High School, 520 Jacksonville Road, Mount Holly.

Atlantic City trip
Tuesday, May 10 Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America NJ 899 will sponsor a trip to Trump Plaza. The bus will leave at the rear parking lot of the Bordentown Township Senior/Community Center at 9 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.
Cost is $20, which will be returned by Trump along with a $3 credit toward the buffet. There is a 50/50 on the bus, door prizes and a movie. All proceeds are used to fund scholarships. Call Betty Kleber for tickets at 888-2833 to ensure a seat.

Tuesday, May 10 through Sunday, May 15 The 35th annual Family Carnival sponsored by the Holy Assumption School in Roebling, Hornberger Avenue and Parish Lane, is slated. Car/bike show
Saturday, May 21 The 2nd annual Joey Rosidivito Car and Bike Show will be held in the parking lot at Bordentown Regional High School, 50 Dunns Mill Road, Bordentown, from noon to 4 p.m.
The lot will open at 11 a.m. Rain date is Saturday, May 28.
Re-dedication ceremony
Saturday, May 21 The Roebling Centennial Committee will re-dedicate the village’s World War II honor roll at 9 a.m. at the new Centennial Park, across from the NJ Transit RiverLine Station, Hornberger and Alden avenues, Roebling.
The public is invited to attend the re-dedication ceremony with Roebling Village’s WWII Veterans as the guest of honor. Veterans wishing to attend should register by calling 499-2993 before Saturday, May 14. The American Legion Post 39, Fourth Avenue, Roebling, will serve light refreshments.
The re-dedication ceremony is one of a series of events sponsored by the Roebling Centennial Committee to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the village.
Street fair
Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 The 28th annual Street Fair in historic Bordentown, sponsored by the Greater Bordentown Chamber of Commerce, will feature more than 100 juried crafters along with Bordentown-area merchants and services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Along with the crafts, two full days of family fun and entertainment will be featured. Don’t miss the display of entries for the annual quilt square competition.
Food will be provided by local restaurants and non-profit organizations.
Admission is free and attendees may park in municipal lots and on side streets.
School registration
Tuesday, May 24 Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration for New Hanover Township School in Wrightstown is slated. Pre-kindergarten students must turn 4 on or before Sept. 30. Kindergarten students must turn 5 on or before Sept. 30.
Parents must call the school at 723-2139 to make an appointment to register their children. Each child must be present for registration.
Birth certificate and immunization records must be brought in for registration and must show proof of residency.
