FREEHOLD — A Millstone Township man who was stopped by a Freehold Borough police officer for motor vehicle violations was subsequently arrested on a fugitive warrant for larceny that had been issued in Virginia.
According to Sgt. Andrew DeMuth, Patrolman Eduardo Santana observed the driver of a vehicle that had New York license plates make a K-turn in the middle of West Main Street at 6:12 p.m. Dec. 22. DeMuth said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
“Patrolman Santana effected a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle for the violations. During the ensuing investigation, Patrolman Santana ran warrant checks on the occupants of the car and found that the driver of the vehicle, Quinton A. Anderson, 22, of Millstone, was wanted out of Virginia on a fugitive warrant,” the sergeant said.
“The warrant was for larceny and was issued by the Henrico County Police Department in Henrico County, Va.”
DeMuth said Anderson was taken into custody and placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, without incident.
“He was arrested on the warrant, and he was also charged with being a fugitive from justice. For that offense, he is being held on $5,000 bail with no 10 percent option,” De- Muth said.
