Interfaith community gathering slated at Princeton University Chapel

In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Fellowship in Prayer, a Princeton-based nonprofit, interfaith organization and the publisher "Sacred Journey," a print and online journal, is presenting an Interfaith Community Gathering for prayer, meditation, music and dance on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m.
This event will take place at the Princeton University Chapel, in conjunction with Princeton University’s Office of Religious Life.
Representatives of many faith traditions will offer spiritual support to all members of the community who have been affected by these hurricanes, and will offer all an occasion to join in opening and awakening our hearts.
Fellowship in Prayer encourages people to spend the day of Oct. 20 in solemn prayer, meditation and fasting. At the end of the day, all are welcome at the Princeton University Chapel for the Interfaith Community Gathering.
Fellowship in Prayer was founded more than 50 years ago on the conviction that prayer is both a universal and a unifying means of bringing healing and peace to our world. The mission of Fellowship in Prayer is "to encourage and support a spiritual orientation to life, to promote the practice of prayer, meditation, and service to others, and to help bring about a deeper spirit of unity among humankind."
