Princeton University will host a symposium Saturday on Revolutionary War routes through New Jersey, scheduled to begin 10 a.m. in Dodds Auditorium of Robertson Hall at Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
The symposium will feature a lecture titled "Unraveling Routes" by Robert Selig, a Revolutionary War historian, who will present the results of his research into the routes through New Jersey taken by American and French forces.
Also speaking at the event will be Jacques Bossiere, national chairman of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association, who will discuss plans for the route’s 225th anniversary to be celebrated next year.
An update on the recently designated Crossroads of the American Revolution State Heritage Area will be given by Marguerite Chandler, president of the Crossroads of the American Revolution Association.
The symposium is jointly sponsored by the association and by the Washington-Rochambeau route association.
The event is scheduled to run to 1:30 p.m. The registration fee is $25, which includes a box lunch and a complimentary pass to the Morven Museum and Gardens.
An optional walking tour of Princeton following the symposium is available for an additional charge of $7. The tour will be led by guides from the Historical Society of Princeton.
