BREAKING NEWS: Wintress squeaks past Sherman in Montgomery

Democrat retains seat on township committee by 40 votes

   Democrat Karen Wintress won re-election to the Montgomery Township Committee on Tuesday by a whisker over her Republican challenger, Ed Sherman.
   Ms. Wintress, who has served for the past year as deputy mayor, won by 40 votes out of a total of 6,762 cast. The vote totals include absentee ballots.
   With Ms. Wintress’s win, the Democrats retain a 4-1 majority on the governing body.
   The vote totals were:
   Wintress (D)* 3,402
   Sherman (R) 3,362
