HILLSBOROUGH Walter V. Gurnick died Nov. 20 in Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was 84.
He was born in Bound Brook and lived in Hillsborough.
Mr. Gurnick served our country as a member of the US Army during World War II as a military police officer.
His wife, Helen Gurnick, died in 1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Gurnick of Hillsborough; a son, Zygmund "Ziggy" Gurnick of Bridgewater; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 23 from Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, followed by entombment in St. Bernard Mausoleum in Bridgewater.
Arrangements were handled by Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville.
