Ordinance due for hearing Dec. 12
By John Tredrea
Parking would be prohibited along sections of Pennington-Titusville, Pennington-Harbourton and Scotch roads in central Hopewell Township if a proposed ordinance introduced by the Township Committee Monday night is adopted.
The proposed ordinance, which is expected to be the topic of a public hearing and adoption vote Dec. 12, comes at the request of residents of the affected streets, in response to on-street parking concerns during athletic events at Timberlane Middle School.
If the ordinance is adopted, no-parking signs would be posted to cover the following areas:
The east side of Scotch Road from its intersection with Pennington-Titusville Road to a point 400 north of that intersection;
The west side of Scotch Road from the intersection of Pennington-Harbourton Road to a point 840 feet south of that intersection;
The southern side of Pennington-Harbourton Road from its intersection with Scotch Road to a point 1,375 feet east of that intersection; and
The northern side of Pennington-Titusville Road between Timkak Lane and Scotch Road.
