ROCKY HILL The Rocky Hill Borough Council will discuss the proposed 2006 budget at a 7:30 p.m. workshop session Monday in Borough Hall.
The meeting will be open to the public, said councilman Richard Batchelder, chairman of the finance and insurance committee.
"We will be going through the first pass of the budget, this is where everybody on the Borough Council reviews all the line items," Mr. Batchelder said. "The finalized worksheet, once we have resolved all the issues, goes to the borough accountant and then will be put into a more formal budget."
Once the formal budget is drafted and introduced, he continued, there will be a public hearing and an adoption at a later meeting.
During its Feb. 27 meeting, Mr. Batchelder said, the council will review the budget line item by line item. The Feb. 27 meeting may be opened for public comment, he added, "depending on how the meeting is run."
The budget, he continued, needs to be introduced before March 21, the deadline for the introduction of budgets this year.
