Grant to borough police to promote pedestrian safety

The Princeton Borough Police Department has received an $8,000 Pedestrian Safety Education and Enforcement grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Safety.
The grant will be used for pedestrian safety enforcement and education, according to the Police Department, adding it plans to aggressively enforce moving violations that put pedestrians at risk. Also, pedestrians whose own actions put themselves at risk will be issued summonses or warnings, police said.
The Police Department announced it will begin selective enforcement details next week at high-risk pedestrian intersections throughout Princeton Borough.
