Proceeds to go to multiple places

Congregation B’nai Tikvah is opening its doors Sunday for a craft bazaar, featuring vendors from the area.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and money raised will go to the congregation’s Youth Group, Nursery School and other community events held at the Finnegans Lane congregation, event organizer Cindy Gittleman said.
"Some of the money I’m raising is going to go toward sponsoring an open Hanukkah party for the community," Ms. Gittleman said. "It’s our plan to have more programming outside our synagogue."
There is no entrance fee and there will be free raffle prizes and a food concession area at the event, Ms. Gittleman said.
In addition, Michaels Arts and Crafts store on Route 1 in North Brunswick will be on hand for the event, Ms. Gittleman said.
Along with vendors selling everything from holiday items, jewelry, stationery and household items, the South Brunswick Division of Social Services will be on hand selling its greeting cards.
Money raised from the cards goes to the township Human Intervention Trust Fund. The fund is used to help needy families pay emergency expenses such as insurance, doctor bills, rent and energy bills. Families can be helped only once a year by the fund.
The division is selling two cards, one is blank inside and the other is a holiday card. The general card has a picture of the pond at Woodlot Park titled "Water," taken by Jacob Zatkow, 10, of Monmouth Junction. The holiday card has a reproduction of "Winter Nostalgia," a painting by Eleanor Hornor, a Kendall Park resident who died earlier this year.
The cards are $5 a piece or $20 for a pack of five.
For more information on the event, contact the synagogue up until noon Friday at (732) 297-0696.
