Leonard W. Jones, 89, of Ewing Township died Sunday at the Capital Health System, Fuld Campus.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. He retired from Keystone Steel in Trenton and the Ewing-Lawrence Sewerage Authority.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Prospect Heights Fire Company and was a member of the St. Luke’s Bowling Team for over 30 years.
Son of the late William and Elizabeth Zickuhr Jones, husband of the late Dorothy Doolan and father of the late Leonard W. Jones Jr., he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David C. Jones of Ewing and Daniel and Judy Jones of Hopewell; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy A. and Jeff Ziegler of Ewing Township; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jones of Fairless Hills, Pa.; a sister, Marie J. Frascella of Hamilton; a sister-in-law, Betty Jane Wolverton of Ewing; seven grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle with the Rev. John C. Belmont, rector of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pennington, officiating.
Burial will be in the Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing.
