School board opts for Breza Road

UPPER FREEHOLD – At a special work session meeting on Feb. 7, the Board of Education voted 7-3 in favor of writing a referendum seeking an additional $13,238,000 to move the middle school project to the Breza Road site.
The board, which shared mixed feelings with those present at the meeting, said they believed that moving the middle school site would be in the best interest of not only the district, but the children in the schools as well. By moving to Breza, the board hopes that although the project will be costlier, the project will be completed faster since they will not have to worry about soil contamination and cleanup approval from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
