Denise Hunter
GALLOWAY Denise Romney Hunter, 79, died April 11 at AtlanticCare Medical Center in Galloway Township.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., to George and Madeline, Romney.
She was a resident of Hightstown from 1957 to 1972 and of Allentown from 1972 to 2003.
She retired from McGraw Hill in 1982.
Wife of the late Rollin A. Hunter, she is survived by her three sons, William, George, and John, and their families.
Services will be held at Christ Church Episcopal in Sharon, Conn., where she will be buried with her parents at a later date, to be determined.
Jean Bates
NEW EGYPT Jean S. Bates, 73, died May 1 at her home.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., she resided in Bucks County, Pa. until moving to New Egypt in 1988.
After raising her family, she enjoyed being a career woman as the assistant vice president at Donald F. Smith & Associates in Princeton. She was involved in the early days of computers and had a passion for designing reports and data entry screens.
Daughter of the late William and Helen Schroeder, she was predeceased by her first husband, Anthony Wasielczyk, and her sister, Marci Spodobalski. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Daniel Bates; daughter, Donna Wasielczyk of New Egypt; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mark Crawford of Montrose, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Margaret Wasielczyk of Hanover, Pa.; three grandchildren, Cory, Mandy and Emily all of Hanover, Pa.; uncle and aunt, Karl and Kate Schroeder of Croydon, Pa.; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Renee Armstrong of Genoa, Ill.; nieces, Barbara and Tom Barnes of Philadelphia, Pa. and Arlene "Pat" and her husband Phil Tyskewicz of Erin, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends and family members.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, with the Rev. Patrick Castles officiating.
Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery.

Ida Carollo Hartman
CREAM RIDGE Ida Carollo Hartman, 84, died Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Hamilton.
Born in Bloomfield, she was a longtime resident of East Brunswick before moving to Cream Ridge.
She is survived by Ernest, her husband of 56 years; her children and their spouses, Nancy and William Ingalsbe of Allentown, Christine and Gerard Bohy of Hamilton, Scott and Kathleen Hartman of Georgia, Gail and Christopher Kibbe of West Long Branch; and her grandchildren Tina, Lauren, Cassan, Travis, Richard, Ellyn and Max; siblings, Salvatore and Ida Carollo, Michael and Ginny Carollo, and Simone Carollo of Bloomfield, Jim and Maryann Carollo of Roseland, Rose Castucci of Spotswood; brother-in-law Robert Crumrine of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown.
Funeral services for family will be held Friday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
