Murder mystery

great success
To the editor:
Murder Mystery at the historic Stockton Inn was a rousing success
"Murder Con Dolce" was a sold-out audience pleaser and a success for Anchor House, the beneficiary of the show’s charitable raffle.
The Stockton Inn held its first murder mystery show Friday, May 4. Actors from the Triangle Theater in Philadelphia kept the audience entertained throughout the four-course dinner.
I directed and joined fellow actors Jane Stojak, Peter Crist, Kelly Kunik, Tom Burke and Mike Seltzer with a cameo appearance as a "photographer" Kerry Shawn Duffy.
There were three raffle baskets totaling more than $1,000 in donated gifts from Riverbank Arts, Phillips Fine Wines, Joy of Hair, the Stockton Inn, all of Lambertville; Anton’s at the Swan, Baker’s Treat and the Chocolate Box LTC, all of Lambertville; the Paper Plate Cafe in New Hope; and Skin n’ Tonic in Peddler’s Village, Lahaska.
All proceeds went to the Anchor House in Trenton, which has services and programs to help runaway, homeless, and abused children.
We raised $ 750 for Anchor House. It was great food, great fun, and giving to a worthy cause made it a wonderful experience. The audience was amazingly enthusiastic.
Diane and Norman Torkelson of Stockton said it was the first benefit and show they’ve attended where they felt every dollar they spent was more than worth it.
This was Norman’s third year in the upcoming Anchor House benefit Ride for Runaways beginning July 7. This year’s week-long 500-mile ride goes from Harrisburg, Va., to Trenton. Last year’s ride raised over $500,000.

Don’t put

junk out early
To the editor:
Lambertville Sparkle Week is an annual event where you can throw out whatever you want, except propane tanks and hazardous waste, and the city will haul it for you free.
Great! Except some residents think it is OK to put there unwanted things out a week in advance. Very attractive for this beautiful river town that we all love.
Let’s see who can rummage through others junk and leave it like a pigpen for all of us to look at.
The City of Lambertville needs to impose a steep daily fine to all who abuse this service and place there junk out early.
Please help keep the beauty alive.
I want to always show off my city.
