A class of 161 eighth-graders will graduate from the Stone Bridge Middle School, Allentown, during commencement exercises to be held in the school auditorium at 7 p.m. June 18.
“They are a great group of kids,” Principal Stephanie Negro said. “They are lighthearted, respectful and they genuinely care for one another. They will be missed.”
The principal said the majority of the new graduates will attend Allentown High School.
Student Council President Dean Johnson will address the class. Elizabeth Olshanetsky has been selected as the valedictorian and will deliver remarks to her classmates, family members, friends, teachers and administrators. In keeping with tradition, the class salutatorian will be announced during graduation. Upper Freehold Regional High School District Superintendent of Schools Dick Fitzpatrick, Board of Education President Patricia Hogan and Negro will also address the students and guests.
Negro said a special part of graduation will be an awards ceremony to recognize students in the eighth grade class.
The seventh grade band and the chorus will perform.
“I look forward to graduation,” Negro said. “It is an exciting time of year to see what the kids have done during their (middle school) years.”
