READING, Pa. Sister Barbara Ann of the Bernardine Sisters Convent, Third Order of Saint Francis, died June 25 in the St. Joseph’s Villa, Mount Alvernia, Reading, Pa. She was 61.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of Henrietta S. (Kruczek) Koshinski of Manville and the late Benjamin A. Koshinski.
Sister entered the Bernadine Franciscan Order on Aug. 31, 1962. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Alvernia College, Reading, Pa., then a degree in nursing from Neumann College, Aston, Pa., she served the order as a nurse in various institutions in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Connecticut and Delaware. She was also the vice-president of Marketing & Development at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Va., served as second provincial councilor as well as third provincial councilor of Heart of Mary Province, Stamford, Conn.
In addition to her mother she is survived by two brothers, Mark A. Koshinski of Woodstock, Ga., and Gerard B. Koshinski of Edgewood, N.M.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 28 in the Sacred Heart Chapel, Mount Alvernia. Burial followed in the Bernardine Sisters Cemetery, Reading, Pa.
