Mildred Safar of Monroe
To the editor:
With the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 tragedy, like many Americans, I have been thinking about the horror of that day. More than anything, I hope that the survivors of this tragedy are healing and finding comfort in the care and concern of their families, friends and communities.
Here in our Monroe community, we have been able to express our feelings through the beautiful park that has been established in memory of the loved ones of Monroe residents. I am proud that our town did not hesitate to respond to this event in such a sensitive manner and was able to create a fitting memorial to those whose lives were taken away on Sept. 11.
