LPS seeks plants and bulbs

LAMBERTVILLE — Originally designed by Kevin Rice of Innovative Landscape Design, the courtyard at Lambertville Public School underwent a transformation into an outdoor learning space.
It has quiet reading areas with boulder seatings, picnic tables for projects and designs, benches for parent pickups and walkways through planting areas.
Over the past two years, it has been used by children, parents and the community. Katherine Hackl, local tile artists, designed a commemorative tile.
Now it is moving to another step. The Parent Teacher Association is requesting donations of perennials, bulbs and shrubs to help complete and beautify the gardens at the entrance of the school.
Bet Saum of Passiflora Design Studio is coordinating and executing the planting with the sixth-grade students as part of their community service project for their Washington, D.C., trip.
She will be teaching them about the plants and how to plant them.
The PTA wants donations of plants or bulbs. The planting date scheduled is Monday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. The PTA will pick up all donations between Nov. 7 and Nov. 9 for those unable to deliver.
Contact Ms. Saum at 397-1010 with questions.
