An alternative solution to monetize the state assets is for New Jersey to print its own currency.
In the early days of our country, individual banks printed their own money supported by gold and silver holdings.
Today, our national currency is being pumped up by the printing presses. New Jersey should emulate the federal government by printing money backed up by the faith and integrity of our political system.
Our currency should reflect the spending and taxing policies in Trenton. On the dollar bill could be an exit sign. The $5 bill may have Uncle Floyd. The $10 bill will show Lou Costello. The $20 bill will be Jerry Lewis. The $50 bill will have a grinning Jon Corzine. And last, but surely not least, on the $100 bill will be none other than Tony Soprano. You have a problem with that?
