“Creating a new vision of a bright future may require taking a different pathway to success. Far too many people see life in New Jersey as hard these days and poorly behaving politicians are only making it worse,” says Wayne Fox, 16th District Democratic Senate candidate.
“We need change, lots of it,” Fox said before rattling off his list of campaign priorities. “We need equitable taxes, smarter spending, fiscal sanity, expanding job opportunities, and a community spirit to make all families feel like they’re wanted here. We can’t afford to have half the state considering leaving; only decisive action in fixing our problems will persuade them to stay.”
“We have an imperative mission to grow business and jobs throughout the state because income growth can actually lower tax rates as collected revenues rise, and makes state debt repayments easier for all.”
For Fox, this is part of a larger solution that must address the growth of the state’s economy both locally and internationally, acting to give NJ a better business climate and an ethically clean government. Wayne Fox, a former Wall Street banker, seeking his first major elective office, warns of the perils facing the state from entrenched politicians.
“For years we’ve watched career politicians use the Legislature like a candy store.” he said. “For far too many of them, there’s this sense of entitlement to get everything they want – power, perks, and pensions, for themselves and their friends, and simply sending us, the taxpayers, the bill.”
Fox rejects such self-serving behavior. For him, the public trust is a true honor.
"To represent our neighbors’ hopes, safeguard tax expenditures, lay a foundation to reform property taxes, strengthen education, health care, transportation, energy independence, and environmental programs, comprehensively in an economically efficient, fiscally sound way is enormously difficult. But it is the great privilege of public service in our American democracy to represent the people.”
Campaigning diligently, Fox is neither deterred by the opposition nor intimidated by the responsibilities of elective office.
"We need fresh ideas and political courage—and we need to be willing to engage in truthful discussion if we want to turn things around in this state," he says. ”If we stay silent, they win.”
A Belle Mead resident, New Jersey native, and married father of four, Wayne Fox has over thirty years experience in business – in management, strategic planning, and finance as an investment banker, corporate advisor, and telecommunications executive.
Mr. Fox holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Rutgers.
Wayne Fox possesses real-world knowledge, skills, and experience. With a clear vision, he helped build a successful company that spurred the cable-TV industry to cooperatively expand into the competitive telephone business and accelerated the deployment of high-speed Internet service worldwide. With a passion for cooperative change, his hard work and principles make him eminently qualified to achieve positive results in Trenton too.
For years, media stories detailing the behavior of corrupt state politicians have left NJ citizens embarrassed and disillusioned. Mr. Fox wants to transform government, by banning multiple office-holding, reducing lobbyist control of political parties while assuring that any political use of taxpayer resources requires voter consent, and seeking innovative technology solutions. Fox opposes Senatorial Courtesy used to block the confirmation of highly-qualified gubernatorial nominees.
“We, the people, elect leaders to make good choices for us. Obviously, they haven’t yet achieved the success we expect. Positive change comes from making good choices. I hope that 16th District voters will make their best choice by voting for our Democratic ticket on November 6th.”
