A 2008 presidential view at Princeton U.

Carl Cannon, White House correspondent for the National Journal, comes to Princeton University Monday to discuss "Mixing Race, Religion, Gender, War and YouTube: The 2008 Presidential Trail" at 4:30 p.m. in Robertson Hall. He has covered every presidential campaign and political convention since 1984 and is the co-author of "Boy Genius," a biography of White House aide Karl Rove.
Cannon wrote "The Pursuit of Happiness in Times of War," a 2003 book exploring how American leaders have employed the language of the Declaration of Independence in times of national crisis. He began covering the White House in 1993 for The Baltimore Sun and remained on the beat after moving to the National Journal in 1998. The following year, he was honored for his White House coverage with the prestigious Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting of the Presidency.
