MONROE Edith M. Appelget, 95, of Monroe Village died Wednesday at The Elms of Cranbury.
Born in Englishtown, she moved to the family farm in Dutch Neck in 1920 where she was caregiver for her parents for many years, moving to Cranbury in 1960 and to Monroe Village in 2005.
She enjoyed gardening, babysitting for many families in Cranbury. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck and also was a Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Cranbury Senior Fellowship.
Daughter of the late R. Kirby and Elizabeth Dey Appelget, sister of the late Walter D. Appelget, M. Adele Applegate and Virginia A. Wilson, she is survived by sister-in-law Cornelia S. Appelget; nieces and nephews Marvin L. Applegate, Carl L. Applegate, Charles W. Appelget, Kenneth E. Wilson, Ruth Nieckoski and June Merritt, and their spouses; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 15 great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11am Monday at A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 N. Main Street, Cranbury, with the Rev. Floyd W. Churn, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
Family and friends may call 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
