Beverly F. C. Smith, 82, of Ewing died Tuesday at home.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. She received her undergraduate degree in teaching from The Teachers College of New Jersey, now known as The College of New Jersey. She received her master’s degree from Columbia University.
She retired from The Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf, West Trenton, where she began her career in teaching and later held the position of principal. She was a member of the West Trenton Presbyterian Church.
Daughter of the late Lyle G. and Florence W. Nightingale Cook, she is survived by her husband, Arthur W. Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur W. Smith Jr. and Florencia Sanchez-Smith of Stockton, Calif.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Gale A. and H. Alan Stevens of Jacobstown, Wendy B. Smith-Velit and Tom Daniels of Ewing, Pamela A. and Guy Errickson of West Amwell Township, and Lisa K. and Walter Banket of Titusville; and seven grandchildren, Kristen, Alan, Alexander, Zachary, Lauren, Lexi and Philip.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, with the Rev. James Pruner, pastor of the West Trenton Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ewing Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
