Choral group sets Dec. 14 concert

   The Raritan Valley Choral Society will present its annual holiday concert, “Hallelujas and Handbells” at 8 p.m. Dec. 14 at St. Joseph’s Church and Parish Center at 34 Yorktown Road in Millstone.
   Donation is $12 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and children and may be purchased at the door.
   The Hillsborough Reformed Church Handbell Choir under the direction of Carol Koch, will be guest performers.
   Under the direction of Rodney Allen Briscoe, the concert will open with the chorus singing “The Messiah Christmas Sampler” which includes selections from George Friderik Handel’s “The Messiah.”
   The handbell choir will play “Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow” and will be joined by the chorus in “Carol of the Bells.”
   The Riverside Singers will sing four familiar carols from Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols.”
   Also adding to the program is the Riverside Quartet, who will perform several holiday selections.
   Chorus rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Nurture Center of the Neshanic Reformed Church at 715 Amwell Road in Hillsborough.
   New members are always welcome.
   Funding for the RVCS is made possible, in part, by funds from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts, administered by the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission through the State/County Local Arts Program.
   The church is handicapped accessible and large print programs are available.
