A janitor at the Hun School of Princeton charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student at the school Jan. 18 was arrested Wednesday, police said.
Erickson Isai Pretzintzin-Suchi, 24, of Trenton, was charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child Wednesday.
Hun School officials notified the Princeton Township Police Department on Tuesday that they had received information about the alleged assault, and an investigation identified Mr. Pretzintzin-Suchi as the suspect.
Mr. Pretzintzin-Suchi had been employed for approximately two weeks as a janitor for a custodial service contracted by the school, and was working under his alias, Geovani Villagran, which is a fictitious name, police said.
He was arrested when he arrived for work at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.
It was also determined that Mr. Pretzintzin-Suchi is an undocumented immigrant, and was wanted on an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement warrant, police said.
He is now lodged at the Mercer County Correction Center, pending court and deportation. Bail has been set at $250,000.
The assault allegedly took place on Jan. 18 at 5:45 p.m. in a classroom after school, according to Princeton Township police Det. Sgt. Ernie Silagyi, who said he couldn’t comment on whether Mr. Pretzintzin-Suchi had a criminal record.
Hun Upper School head Bill McQuade said he believes the school’s contractors perform background checks.
”Right now, all of our efforts are working with the police on the investigation,” he said. “Next it’s focusing on the student and the student’s family, and extended family — which is our entire community.”
