WEST WINDSOR — With the Feb. 5 New Jersey Presidential Primary approaching,, the Mercer County Republican Committee will vote Tuesday to endorse a candidate, chairman Roy Wesley has announced. The vote will be taken during the GOP committee’s regular meeting at La Villa Ristorante in Hamilton.
Wesley, who backs Rudy Giuliani, said: "New Jersey, with its winner take all primary, is likely to play a pivotal role in deciding who will be the big winner on Super Tuesday" (Feb. 5) Regardless of who I have endorsed personally, it is critical that the Mercer County Republican Committee be part of the debate and help focus attention on the importance of making an informed choice by endorsing a candidate."
On the same day as the New Jersey primary, 24 states including New York and California, will hold primaries or caucuses with 41 percent of the total Republican delegates.
"No one in New Jersey, Republican or Democrat, should allow themselves to be influenced by what happens in other state primaries," Wesley said. " New Jersey Republicans will decide for themselves who they want to be their party’s candidate for President."
