   A motorist was taken to the hospital Thursday after her car struck a deer at 7:10 a.m., police said. Catherine A. Meringer, 47, of Hamilton was northbound on Route 206 near Carriage Way when a deer suddenly ran out in front of her vehicle, police said. The car struck the deer and it landed on the windshield, which shattered into the vehicle and covered Ms. Meringer with glass. She suffered a laceration to her right hand as a result of the accident and was transported to the University Medical Center at Princeton by the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad to be treated for her injuries. The injured deer was destroyed by police.
   A fire at 549 The Great Road was fully extinguished by 10 a.m. Sunday after approximately 30 firefighters from Princeton Fire Department and Rocky Hill Fire Department responded to the scene, police said.
   Princeton Fire Chief Dan Tomalin said the fire was contained to the area around the home’s fireplace and there were no reported injuries.
   Patrols were dispatched to the residence for a fire alarm 7:30 a.m. Sunday and were informed by the dispatcher while en route that the homeowner was reporting a fire in the residence, police said. Patrols arrived and observed flames in the wall next to the fireplace, police said. Later, firefighters dismantled the wall and extinguished the flames, police said. Fire apparatus and personnel cleared the scene at 10 a.m. The fire is currently under investigation by police and Township Fire Official Ron DiLapo.

   Jeffrey G. Lavis, 30, of Hunters Glen Drive was charged with criminal mischief at 10:40 a.m. Friday after a neighbor called police about noise outside a window. A search of the area led to Mr. Lavis’ home, where further investigation determined Mr. Lavis had damaged the neighbor’s screen, police said.
   Three moving company employees were injured at 10:30 a.m. Monday after falling off of the back of a delivery truck in a parking lot off Morgan Lane. Following delivery, the driver drove off with the employees still in the truck and the rear of the truck open, causing the three employees to fall off, police said. The three employees were taken to the University Medical Center at Princeton for treatment of injuries and the driver, Keita Gaffney, 35, of Philadelphia, was given a summons for careless driving.
