Middle school program to include ‘Celebrity Feud’

Hillsborough Middle School’s Student Leadership Corps will host its annual Family Night program from 7:30 to 9 p.m. March 27 in the school cafeteria.
This year’s program will feature a skit, “Celebrity Feud: Drugs or No Drugs!”, based on the popular TV game show.
Family Night is sponsored by the SLC as an opportunity for students and parents to have an open dialog on the topic and drugs.
The SLC is a group of seventh- and eighth-grade students who serve as peer educators to promote a drug-free lifestyle. These students facilitate classroom discussions throughout the year with theirs peer on the dangers of alcohol and other drugs.
Family night will be informative, entertaining and interactive. SLC members will perform a skit in which popular celebrities will compete in a special episode on the game show “Family Feud.”
The evening will also include information booths, a treasure hunt with prizes, small group discussion and refreshments.
The workshop is open to the community and is especially aimed at parent and students in grades 5 and up. HMS students who attend with a parent will receive extra credit in their health or Physical Education class.
There is no cost for the program but registration is necessary. For information, contact Anna Mahler at 874-3420, ext. 6023, or e-mail [email protected].
