Michael Grainger, 21, of Hamilton was taken into custody on a contempt warrant of $150 out of Hamilton Municipal Court after police said they stopped his vehicle on Nassau Street about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. He was later released on bail.
Edward Sweeney, 42, of Lawrence was arrested on outstanding warrants from Trenton Municipal Court for $151 cash bail and East Windsor Municipal Court for $150 cash bail after his vehicle was stopped on Palmer Square East about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, police reported. He was later released on bail.
Princeton Township
Candelaria Noriega, 26, of Abbington Drive, East Windsor, was charged with three counts of theft after she took three blank New Jersey prescription forms from a Princeton Township doctor’s office where she was a temporary employee, police said. She was also charged with one count of forgery. Police said that on March 14 two forged prescription blanks were presented to an East Windsor pharmacy for Xanax and oxycodone. The third was presented March 22 for oxycodone to another East Windsor pharmacy, police said. Both pharmacies did not fill the prescriptions and notified the Princeton doctor’s office, leading to the investigation. Ms. Noriega was released after posting 10 percent of $5,000 bail.
Montgomery
An employee of Village Elementary School reported the theft of $3,200 in jewelry from her purse. She told police she temporarily had the jewelry in her purse when she arrived at the school April 3. At the end of the day she found the jewelry missing and a search was fruitless, leading her to believe it was taken while the purse was left unattended, police said. The detective bureau is investigating.
Two buildings on the Skillman Village property were broken into between April 8 and 11, police reported. Plywood covering the windows of one building was torn off and the entry door of the second building was forced open. No interior damage was reported. Repairs were estimated at $50.
Corey N. Gerstenfeld, 18, of Montgomery was charged with careless driving following a one-car accident at Rutland and Matthews Farm roads at 2:04 p.m. April 10. Police said she was eastbound on Rutland Road in her 2004 Acura when she became distracted and lost control of the car, which left the roadway and struck a tree. She complained of pain in her shoulder and was taken to University Medical Center at Princeton, police said.
Jayme S. Ramos, 25, of East Windsor was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by Plainsboro Township Municipal Court about 5:40 p.m. April 10. His car was stopped on Route 206 after passing other vehicles in a no-passing zone, police said, and further checks revealed the active warrant. Unable to post $500 bail, he was turned over to Plainsboro police, according to the report. He was charged with passing in a no-passing zone and failure to make repairs after inspection.
Anthony J. Palmeri, 22, of Staten Island, N.Y., was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by North Brunswick Municipal Court about 3:16 p.m., April 11. Police said his car was stopped for a cracked windshield violation on Orchard Road. He posted bail at police headquarters and was charged with operating a vehicle with a cracked windshield and driving with a suspended license.
A juvenile was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, operating a vehicle without consent, being an unlicensed driver and operating a vehicle with a suspended license early Thursday morning.
A Green Avenue resident reported at 1:18 a.m. Thursday that the youth had entered his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway, according to police.
The resident reported he started chasing the boy, but he was able to escape on foot.
After police took the youth into custody, police said they learned he took his parents’ vehicle without their consent or knowledge.
The boy was released to the custody of his parents, pending court appearances in the Juvenile Division of Somerset County Superior Court and Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
West Windsor
Adriana Thomas, 42, of Lawrence was charged with shoplifting after she allegedly placed $22 worth of candy bars in her purse and attempted to leave the Sam’s Club store in the Nassau Park shopping center at 5:30 p.m. April 11.
Adolph Jordan, 53, of Trenton was charged with shoplifting after he attempted to steal two drills worth $149 from Home Depot in the Nassau Park shopping center at 11:30 a.m. April 11.
Andrew Pittman, 20, of Hamilton was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at 11:45 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Pittman was a passenger in a car that was stopped at the Old Trenton Road entrance to Mercer County Park for having a headlight out. A subsequent search revealed Mr. Pittman to be in possession of both marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Abela Mutembei, 36, of Princeton was charged with shoplifting after concealing $59 worth of designer perfume in her purse and attempting to leave the Sam’s Club in the Nassau Park shopping center at 6 p.m. Saturday, police reported.
Kristen Smith, 19, of Reed Drive North was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving following a motor-vehicle accident at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Southfield Road and Village Road. Police received a call about a motor vehicle crash and found Ms. Smith’s car stuck in a field 50 feet from the roadway, according to the report.
Michael Yenko, 20, of South Brunswick was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, consumption under the legal age, and making an unsafe lane change after a traffic stop at 1:20 a.m. Sunday on northbound Route 1 at Scudders Mill Road. Police said they saw Mr. Yenko’s car make several unsafe lane changes and found him to be intoxicated and in possession of a small pipe that contained suspected marijuana residue.
Patrick Ward, 31, of Cranbury was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams following a traffic stop on Clarksville Road at Hawk Drive at 9 p.m. Saturday. He was stopped for having a license plate light out and a search revealed him to be in possession of marijuana, police said.
Mandy Marie Johnson, 19, of Princeton was charged with shoplifting after she tried to steal $410 worth of DVDs from the Target store at the Nassau Park shopping center at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday. Ms. Johnson put the DVDs in her purse and tried to walk out of the store, police said.
Two Pennsylvania residents were arrested for various drug offences following a traffic stop on southbound Route 1 at the MarketFair shopping center at 10:33 p.m. Tuesday, police said. After pulling the car over for speeding, the responding officer noticed both people in the car acting suspiciously, according to the report. After receiving consent to search the car, police said they found Kristi L. Buch, 31, of Morrisville, Pa., to be in possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle and Jennifer M. Reiling, 32, of Fairless Hills, Pa., to be in possession of a hypodermic needle. Both women were charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and Ms. Buch also received an additional charge of possession of heroin.
