Princeton Borough
Alexander Oganesov, 34, of Prospect Avenue was charged with driving while intoxicated after his car was stopped on Bayard Lane for making a prohibited right turn about 10:01 p.m. May 2, police reported.
Edward Broner, 50, of no known address was charged with trespassing after he was found sleeping in the front foyer of 205 Nassau St. about 2:09 a.m. Saturday, police reported. A complaint was filed by the building’s owner, Sanford Zeitler, police said.
Timothy Drabick, 29, of Bordentown was taken into custody on a $450 warrant out of Bordentown Township Municipal Court following a traffic stop on Nassau Street about 10:19 a.m. May 2, police said.
Adam Baer, 46, of Rosedale Road, Princeton, was arrested on an active warrant out of West Windsor Municipal Court for $225 after he was stopped while driving on Nassau Street about 8:20 p.m. May 2 for driving with an unregistered vehicle, police said.
Susan Lenhardt, 49, of Nassau Street was taken into custody on an active warrant issued by Princeton Borough Municipal Court for $500 while she was walking in the Spring Street Municipal Parking Garage about 9:55 p.m. Monday, police reported.
Princeton Township
Arthur Leuck, 46, of Benjamin Rush Lane was charged with a number of drug offenses after police said they were called to his home to investigate a burglary and theft the evening of April 30.
Police said that between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Mr. Leuck reported that the rear sliding door of his house was smashed and a flat-panel TV and home theater system were stolen. Police said they checked the home for intruders and while in the basement found four marijuana plants growing behind a false wall constructed of cardboard and plasterboard. The four plants and the materials to cultivate the plants were removed by police, who said over five pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were confiscated.
Mr. Leuck was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a CDS within 500 feet of public housing, possession with intent to manufacture, manufacturing a CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report. He was later released on his own recognizance.
Inkuk Lee, 36, of Woodfield Lane, Lawrence, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant out of Hopewell Township Municipal Court for $195 after a traffic stop on Route 206 near Carriage Way about 11:44 p.m. Monday, police reported. His car was stopped for speeding, police said, and he was released after bail was posted.
Alexander Street was closed between Faculty Road and Route 1 about an hour on Wednesday afternoon after a smoke condition was reported at 350 Alexander St. Police said that several of the first-floor rooms were smoke-filled and all employees were evacuated. The cause was determined to be a burned-out motor in the ceiling of the building. Alexander Street was reopened about 5:45 p.m. The Princeton Fire Department, Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Princeton University Public Safety and the Plainsboro Fire Department responded to the scene.
Julia Flocco of Wilshire Drive, Montgomery, was charged with careless driving following an accident on Quaker Road in the Port Mercer area about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Police said her 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed east on Quaker Road when she lost control of the vehicle on a curve and it rolled over on its side, resting on the guardrail next to the Delaware & Raritan Canal. The Jeep was stabilized by members of the Lawrenceville Fire Company and she was able to safely climb out of the vehicle, police said.
A bicyclist was injured Wednesday when he was struck by a car on Washington Road. Police said Terrence Curran, 37, of Cranford, driving a 2006 black Honda Civic, was northbound on Washington Road about 4:44 p.m. and slowed to allow pedestrians to cross the road at a crosswalk. After the pedestrians crossed, he began to drive through the crosswalk and collided with Matthew Montondo, 27, of Eisenhower Street, Princeton, who was riding his bike across the road. Mr. Montondo was thrown onto the hood of the Honda and fell to the ground, striking his head and causing head trauma, police said.
He was taken to Helene Fuld Trauma Center by the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad. On Thursday afternoon he was listed in fair condition and he was described as stable, conscious, and with favorable indications.
The case is under investigation by police and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. Witnesses are asked to call 921-2100 and contact Officer Melissa Martinez at extension 832 or Detective Sgt. Scott Porreca at extension 817.
Montgomery
A Cherrybrook Drive resident reported Monday that two personal checks were stolen from her locked car between 8:15 and 9 a.m. at Princeton North Shopping Center. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
Benjamin B. Weeks, 29, of Princeton was arrested on outstanding warrants issued by Plainsboro and Trenton municipal courts at 12:16 p.m. Monday, police reported. Mr. Weeks was a front-seat passenger in a car driving on Dunn Drive near Route 206 that was stopped because he was not wearing a seat belt, police said. He was unable to post bail and was turned over to Plainsboro police, according to the report.
A motorist driving on Cherry Valley Road near Ironwood Road about 6:30 p.m. Monday reported his car was sideswiped by a hit-and-run driver. Harshal R. Doshi of Philadelphia told police he was westbound when a black Honda headed in the opposite direction entered his travel lane and struck the side of his car and then continued on without stopping. Police said Mr. Doshi’s 2001 Toyota Corolla sustained heavy scrape marks, a broken rear view mirror and a flat tire.
West Windsor
Primivito Santana, 32, of Trenton was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and making an unsafe lane change following a traffic stop on southbound Route 1 at Emmons Drive at 12:53 a.m. Saturday. Police stopped Mr. Santana’s vehicle for an unsafe lane change and found him to be intoxicated, according to the report.
Two residences on Warwick Road were broken into during approximately the same time period, police reported.
A window was pried open at one of the houses between 9 p.m. Saturday and 12:45 a.m. Sunday. The residents were unsure if anything was stolen.
In the other incident, a door was pried open between mid-afternoon Saturday and early Sunday. The residents were also unsure if anything was taken.
Someone stole a cell phone and $5 from a backpack left on the eastbound platform of the Princeton Junction train station by a Princeton resident between 6:15 and 6:45 a.m. Sunday. The victim got on a train and realized he had left his backpack on the platform. The cell phone was valued at $100.
Someone stole a bicycle from a Briarwood Drive residence between 2:15 and 5:15 p.m. Sunday. The $400 bike was left in the front of the residence.
Satu Divine, 31, of Philadelphia was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and obstructed view following a traffic stop at northbound Route 1 at Harrison Street at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday. Police said they stopped Mr. Divine’s vehicle after they saw he had numerous objects hanging off his rearview mirror and then smelled the odor of burned marijuana. A search revealed Mr. Divine to be in possession of the drug, police said.
Plainsboro
A Quail Ridge Drive resident reported the theft of $200 in cash from a bedroom closet between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. May 1. There was no forced entry to the residence, police said.
Police recovered a stolen 1999 Ford pickup truck in the parking lot of the Marriott hotel on College Road about 1:32 a.m. May 2. The truck had been reported stolen on April 6 from Parsippany.
Four West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District buses were damaged between 5:15 p.m. May 1 and 6:15 a.m. May 2 while parked on Grovers Mill Road. Hoods were opened and fuel lines damaged, rending them inoperable, police said. Damage was estimated at about $100.
A Plainsboro Road resident reported Sunday that he was the victim of identity theft after his credit card was used by an unknown person. The unauthorized charges amounted to an estimated $8,372.
Barbara A. Romanok, 56, of Ravens Crest Drive was charged with driving while intoxicated after her Mazda was stopped for a license plate violation about 12:58 a.m. Sunday, police reported. She was also charged with driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and improper maintenance of lamps.
A Sayre Drive resident reported Tuesday that in February someone opened a credit card using the victim’s name and charged $5,488.88 at a P.C. Richard store in Edison.
Isaias Guzman Aguilar, 31, of Morton, Miss., was charged with possession of fraudulent documents after his Pontiac Transport mini van was stopped on northbound Route 1 about 3:41 a.m. Sunday for failing to follow a marked turning course and making an unsafe lane change, police reported. Police said he was unable to provide a driver’s license and a search revealed he possessed a false Social Security card, false U.S. resident alien card and several other official documents that did not belong to him. He was charged with possession of fraudulent official documents, tampering with public records, failure to follow a marked turning course, making an unsafe lane change and being an unlicensed driver. He was remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in default of $5,000 bail.
Douglas Pitchford, 22, of Kinglet Drive and Melissa Manger, 26, of Quail Ridge Drive were charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a car driven by Mr. Pitchford was stopped on Quail Ridge Drive after running a stop sign at about 1:40 p.m. April 8, police reported. Mr. Pitchford was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, having unclear license plates, having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said. They were released pending a court appearance.
The Meadows at Middlesex Golf Course on Hunters Glen Drive reported that holes were dug in the 17 green between 6 p.m. Monday and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Damage was estimated at $500.
