Margaret S. Drummond

PHS guidance secretary
    Margaret Sarah Drummond of Princeton died Sunday at Merwick Rehab Hospital and Nursing Care. She was 83.
   Born in Princeton, she was a lifelong area resident.
   She graduated from Princeton High School and attended Rider College.
   She worked at Princeton University library until her marriage to Robert Drummond in 1946.
   She retired after 20 years as a secretary with the guidance department of Princeton High School.
   She was a 50-year member of Princeton Chapter No. 91 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and was a collector of cookbooks and recipes. She also enjoyed garage and estate sales, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and other logic games and travels to Florida to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She helped sponsor her nephew-in-law’s modified race car at the Warrensburg Race Track.
   Daughter of the late Wallace and Mary Mershon, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas W. “Bulldog” and Karen Drummond of Tampa, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law Ayn A. and Joseph Renick of Oak Grove, Mo., and Kathy and Steve Dennis of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren and one step-grandson Megan Dean, Douglas Drummond Jr., Kerry Dennis, Cori Dennis and Shannon Renick; and great-granddaughter McKenna Dean.
   The funeral will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
   Calling hour will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
   Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.
