Bike tourists need helmets

Sandra Shapiro of West Windsor
I was delighted to read about the new company, Princeton Bike Tours, in the Aug. 1 edition of The Princeton Packet. However, as a trustee of the West Windsor Bicycle and Pedestrian Alliance, I was dismayed to see that most of the riders were not wearing helmets. Properly fitted helmets help prevent head trauma in cycling accidents, and riders should be encouraged to wear helmets whenever and wherever they ride.
I hope that Princeton Bike Tours will flourish and that many people will discover the sites of Princeton and the pleasures of safely riding bicycles.
