Celestin, Marsielle advance in Princeton’s greatest contest

Trotman Sr., Craig, Webber and Mooney in current matchups

Former Princeton High boys’ soccer star and one-time Little Tigers head coach Ron Celestin, as well as former track and field star Wagner Marsielle have advanced through the first round of the Princeton High’s All-Time Greatest Athlete contest.
Celestin, currently an assistant women’s soccer coach at Princeton University, garnered 62 percent of the vote to defeat former soccer start Craig Schroeder in a first-round matchup. Marsielle secured 55 percent of the vote for a narrow victory over former track and soccer star Ailey Penningroth.
Two new head-to-head matchups are now underway, as former basketball and football star Marv Trotman Sr. takes on former basketball star Denise Craig in one matchup. The other will pit former soccer and lacrosse star Saskia Webber, who went on to be a goalkeeper for the United State National Soccer team, against Sue Mooney, who excelled in soccer and softball at Princeton High.
In addition, former Olympic Gold medal winner Lesley Bush has earned the final spot in the field of 32 for the contest. She will be in a first-round matchup in the coming weeks.
