The Princeton University football team evened its 2008 record at 1-1 with a 10-7 win over Lehigh on Saturday on Powers Field at Princeton Stadium.
Connor Louden’s 32-yard field goal as time expired provided the difference for the Tigers, who bounced back from an opening loss at The Citadel. Lehigh fell to 1-2.
The Mountain Hawks took the lead in the second quarter after they blocked Louden’s first field goal attempt and returned the block 71 yards. It set up a 7-yard touchdown pass from J.B. Clark to Mike Fitzgerald.
Princeton answered right back with a five-play drive that covered 68 yards. Brian Anderson’s 46-yard completion to Joe Magro set up a 1-yard option run by Jordan Culbreath for the tying touchdown. There was no more scoring until Louden’s game-winner.
Anderson threw for 244 yards, including nine times for 120 yards to Will Thanheiser. Thanheiser’s 46-yard reception on the final possession set up Louden’s kick. Culbreath rushed 20 times for 126 yards.
