E. WINDSOR / HIGHTSTOWN: Police Beat from Nov. 14

East Windsor

   Shailesh P. Jahagirdar, 19, of Taylor Court, West Windsor, was charged Tuesday with eluding police, disorderly conduct, and numerous motor vehicle violations after a high-speed chase.
   Police said they used lights and sirens to signaled for Mr. Jahagirdar to stop at 11:20 p.m. after seeing him make an illegal U-turn on Route 130 at Mercer Street, and that he proceeded to accelerate. Mr. Jahagirdar then abruptly turned onto Hankins Road, police said, but failed to properly negotiate the turn and collided with a tree. Neither he nor his passenger, a 16-year-old West Windsor boy, were injured. Mr. Jahagirdar was released on $1,000 bail.
   He was also charged with making an improper U-turn, being an unlicensed driver, driving an uninsured vehicle, speeding, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain a single lane, making an improper turn, and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle.

   Roger R. Munoz, 36, of Woodmill Drive, was charged Nov. 5 with resisting arrest and hindering apprehension. Police said Mr. Munoz gave them a false name when they came to serve him with a temporary restraining order and take him into custody for the following warrants: Union County, no bail; East Windsor, $630; South Amboy, $623; Perth Amboy, $2,609; and Cranbury, $500.
   Mr. Munoz then resisted arrest by fighting with the officers, according to police. He was released to the custody of the Union County Sheriff’s Department. Neither Mr. Munoz nor police were injured in the altercation, police said.

   Salvatore E. Gambino, 27, of Princeton Arms North 1, was charged Saturday with possession of cocaine, hindering apprehension, driving while intoxicated, and numerous related violations.
   Police said they pulled him over after he failed to stop at a red light at Routes 130 and 571 at 2:20 a.m. Police reported later finding a small plastic baggie containing cocaine that Mr. Gambino left in a patrol car.
   He also was charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane of travel, failure to observe traffic signal, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

   Tommy J. Williams, 21, of Bolton Road, was charged Tuesday with possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said that while on foot patrol at 1:50 p.m. in the rear of the Twin Rivers Mall they saw Mr. Williams standing on the access roadway of Bennington Drive, holding U.S. currency containing loose marijuana.

   Tracy L. Seiter-Magsamen, 47, of Bolton Road, was charged Nov. 6 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, careless driving, and driving with an obstructed view. Police said she failed to stop for a red light at 10:30 p.m. at Routes 133 and 33 and collided with the rear of a stopped car.

   Harold J. Arzayus, 21, of Estates Boulevard, Hamilton, was charged Nov. 7 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane of travel, and having an unclear license plate. Police said they stopped him at 11:40 p.m. on Route 133 for weaving.

   Celia Nivicela-Pugo, 33, of Church Street, Windsor, was charged Monday with shoplifting. Police said she was seen trying to leave the Shop Rite on Route 130 while concealing two bottles of shampoo, valued at $37.97, in her purse.

   A black, red and white Fox wallet, valued at $50, was reported stolen from inside a locked locker at Gold’s Gym on Mercer Street between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said the wallet contained personal identification, three credit cards, and an ATM card.

   A black HP Business Notebook laptop, valued at $1,500, was reported stolen from an unlocked desk drawer of a business in the 400 building of the Corporate Office Park at 50 Millstone Road between 6:15 p.m. Oct. 24 and 9:45 a.m. Oct. 27. The incident was reported to police Nov. 6.

Hightstown

   Saul Chay, 27, of Elizabeth, was charged Tuesday with forgery, possession of a forgery instrument, money laundering, and passing bad checks after police said he attempted to cash $33,643 in fraudulent checks.
   Police said they responded to a report of a man trying to pass the checks at Servico International, 401 Mercer St., at 3:51 p.m. and found Mr. Chay had seven checks in various aliases. He was released Wednesday on $10,000 bail.

   Jorge Lopez-Quintero, 21, of East Windsor, was charged Nov. 6 with disorderly conduct. Police said they responded to a report of a disturbance at 12:11 a.m. on the 100 block of Rogers Avenue, and arrived to find Mr. Lopez-Quintero intoxicated and bleeding from his hands. The wound was a result of Mr. Lopez-Quintero punching out all the windows of his own vehicle, according to police. He was treated for his injuries before being transported home.

   Lauren Longo, 23, of Old Bridge, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, DWI in a school zone, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, and reckless driving. Police said they stopped her at 12:31 a.m. on Main Street after seeing her cross into the oncoming lane and then park in the street’s intersection with Stockton Street. Ms. Longo had a blood-alcohol level of .14 percent, police reported.

   Elmer Morataya, 40, of Gardenview Terrace, East Windsor, and Arturo Hernandez-Lopez, 40, of Second Avenue, Hightstown, were charged Sunday with disorderly conduct. Police said they responded to a report of two men drinking in public at 11:26 a.m. in Dawes Park, and found the two drinking brandy and a 12-pack of beer.

   Fernando Fernandez, 22, of Bennington Drive, East Windsor, was charged Saturday with contempt of court. Police said they stopped him for speeding at 10:05 p.m. on Franklin Street and found that he had a suspended license and two Trenton traffic warrants totaling $416.
