FLORENCE — Mitchell A. Bradshaw, 90, of Florence died Oct. 27 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton.
Born in Sportsylvania County, Va., he lived in Newark and South Plainfield before moving to Florence in 2004. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theatre, saw action at Normandy Beach and was a participant at Murmansk Run. Mr. Bradshaw was a retired chemical operator from Millmaster Chemical in Berkley Heights. He was a member of the Central Jersey Beagle Club, the LST Association, like gardening, was a charter member of the World War II Memorial and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Husband for 53 years to the late Irene, he is survived by a son, Dennis (and Patricia) Bradshaw of Lancaster, S.C. and a daughter, Linda (and Robert) Kahrmann of Florence. Also his siblings, Louise Childress, Warren and Kenneth Bradshaw and Frances Lamb, all of Virginia, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Carrie and William Bradshaw, and siblings Geraldine Budd, Mary Beighey, Charles Cassidy, Carlton Cassidy, Wilton Bradshaw and Lucy Phillips.
Funeral services were held Friday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Florence. Interment was in the Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to St. Stephen’s Church, P.O. Box 365, Florence.
