Wreaths Across
America
    Through Nov. 21 — The Allentown Composite Squadron is holding a drive for residents to sponsor wreaths to be laid at the Brig. William C. Doyle Cemetery in New Hanover through the Wreaths Across America program.

Third Friday tasting
    Friday, Nov. 21 —Silk & Tweed will host a Beaujolais Nouveaux wine tasting party at 6 p.m. at 148 Farnsworth Ave. Tasting this autumn’s bounty is a wonderful way to say hooray for the coming holidays. For more information, call 298-4456.

Christmas bazaar
    Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22 — The annual Christmas bazaar will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21 and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 4 to 7 p.m., on Nov. 22.
    The famous soup and sandwich luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21.
    A ham dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 22. Tickets are $12 adults, $6 children, children under 5 free. $13 for take-out orders. For tickets call 298-5465 or 298-0158, the church office, Tuesday or Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pictures with Santa
    Saturday, Nov. 22 — Hope Hose Humane Co. will offer photos with Santa from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children and pets can get their picture taken with St. Nick at the station at 150 W. Burlington St., Bordentown City. Pictures are $5, and packages are available.
Little League
    Saturday, Nov. 22 — Bordentown Little League is now accepting registrations for the upcoming 2009 baseball/softball/t-ball season. There will be in person registration in the batting cage at Gilder Park Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon. Please refer to the Web site Bordentownlittleleague.org and the forms are in the handout section. Coffee house
    Saturday, Nov. 22 — St. Mary’s in Bordentown in hosting a Coffee House on at 7:30 p.m. in the school hall. The evening will be filled with contemporary Christian music featuring the band S’elahSong. Plenty of food and refreshments will be available in a “coffee house” atmosphere. Christmas bazaar
    Saturday, Dec. 6 — Mt. Zion AME Church, 36 E. Burlington St., will hold its annual Christmas bazaar at Hope Hose Fire Station, 150 W. Burlington St., Bordentown City, from 8 to 1 a.m. The bazaar features gifts, vendors, bargains and food.
‘Abigail Adams’
    Saturday, Dec. 6 — The General Mercer Chapter of the DAR will present “Abigail Adams: Dearest Friend” at 1 p.m. in the Crosswicks United Methodist Church on Ward Avenue in Crosswicks. The public is invited to this free event.

Trail day
    Saturday, Dec. 6 —Thorntown Creek Trail Day: Volunteers needed to help maintain walking trail and clean up trash along Thorntown Creek in Bordentown City. Bring a shovel and gloves and dress for the weather. Meet at 9:30 a.m. on Elizabeth Street by Ocean Spray entrance. Sponsored by the Bordentown City Environmental Commission (www.bcec.us).
Holiday bazaar
    Saturday, Dec. 6 — The Florence Township Elementary PTA is sponsoring a Holiday Bazaar, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Roebling Elementary School. Come do your shopping, as a wide variety of crafters and vendors will be present. Kids can make their own crafts, for $1 each, while you shop. Refreshments will be sold. St. Nicholas dinner
    Sunday, Dec. 7 — St. Nicholas Parish in Roebling will hold its annual St. Nicholas Day Dinner at 12:30 p.m. The menu will include homemade chicken soup, stuffed cabbage, ham, pierogi, vegetables, a beverage and dessert. Christmas party
    Wednesday, Dec. 10 — The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 26 will have its annual Christmas party at the Villa Manninos on Route 130 North at 6 p.m.

American Boychoir

Church events
    Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14 — The First Presbyterian Church of Bordentown City, 420 Farnsworth Ave., will be open for the Bordentown Historical Society Holiday Tour of Homes Dec. 13, and will host the annual Christmas Canata on Dec. 14, followed by the annual Silver Tea. The Second Annual Blue Christmas service will be held Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. This service is designed for those who grieve or struggle through the holiday season, and is co-hosted by Fieldsboro United Methodist Church and Bordentown Home for Funerals. Christmas Eve services will be at 7:30 p.m.
Book discussion
    Sunday, Dec. 14 — The Bordentown Library Book Discussion Group will be showing a film in December instead of reading for a break from the holiday hustle and bustle. Come watch “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” with Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy on Dec. 14 14 at 2 p.m. Enjoy popcorn, snacks and drinks during the film. Afterwards, we’ll briefly discuss the upcoming year — bring your reading suggestions for the Book Discussion Group. The event is free, but registration is required.
