There are no suspects

The Front Porch, a gift shop at 24 S. Main St., Pennington Borough, was held up at gunpoint Monday morning, police said.
Borough police Director William Meytrott said the crime occurred at about 10:30 a.m., when a man entered the store and accosted an employee and customer with a silver-colored pistol.
”He told the employee and customer to go over by the cash register, which they did,” Director Meytrott said. “He then told the employee to ‘give me the money’ from the cash register.”
The employee complied, giving the man all the money — about $50 —that was in the register. The bandit then demanded the customer’s money. She opened her wallet and gave him all the cash she had, about $300.
Based on the accounts of the two victims, neither of whom was injured, and a third witness, an elderly woman from Lawrence, the robber was described as a dark-skinned or tanned Caucasian, between 26 and 50 years old, between 5 feet-10 inches and 6 feet tall and of thin build. He was wearing an ash-colored hooded sweatshirt, but no mask. “His face was exposed,” Director Meytrott said.
The robber drove away in a metallic blue Saturn with the word “Saturn” in red letters on the bumper. The store has a video surveillance camera but it yielded no useful evidence, Director Meytrott said. There are no suspects, he added.
Borough Patrolman Doug Pinelli responded and is handling the investigation. Hopewell Township police also responded.
It has been many years since Pennington has had an armed robbery, Director Meytrott said. “I’ve been here 10 years — there’s been none during that time.” He said he did not know when the last such crime occurred in the small borough.
