A new garbage collector has been retained by the Bordentown Township, according to Mayor William Morelli.
This decision is both cost effective and will provide excellent service, he said.
The contract was awarded March 23 at the Township Committee meeting.
The new garbage collection company is Waste Management and was effective as of April 1.
There will be one day a week trash collection for regular garbage and bulk trash. The trash company will collect the trash on the first day of the old trash collection schedule. If originally the trash was collected on Tuesdays and Fridays then Tuesday is your trash day. If originally the trash was collected on Mondays and Thursdays then your trash day will be on Monday.
The “white goods” or appliances such as washers, dryers, freezers, air conditioners, and refrigerators will be picked up every Wednesday. The residents must call the Public Works garage at 291-2133 to schedule the pick up by 3 p.m. Tuesday. The appliances must be free of any freon when placed at the curb.
