Indo-American Fair: Shirdi Sai Dham Inc., will present the seventh annual Grand Indo-American Fair 2009, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Mercer County Park, West Windsor (also Sunday, Sept. 6). The fair is all about fostering friendship between the people of America and India and sharing India’s rich crafts, culture and culinary art with American friends and other local and regional communities, organizers say. The fair will also showcase numerous vendors of Indian art, handicrafts, costume jewelry, traditional Indian dresses, paintings, artistic brass work, as well as multi-linguistic cultural programs including regional dances, music and other live entertainment, and the best South and North Indian cuisine. Princeton Eat-In: In support of the Slow Food Time for Lunch campaign, there will be a pot-luck picnic at noon in Maggie’s Park, Spruce Street and Linden Lane, Princeton. The Time for Lunch campaign is advocating building a better foundation for our children’s health by serving real food in our schools and teaching healthy habits through this example. The public is invited to bring a picnic basket and a dish to share.
