Kingston Historical Society, Secretary

By Ceil Leedom
The Kingston Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting at 7:30 pm Tuesday June 1st at the Kingston Fire House, 6 Heathcote Brook Road (just off Route 27) in Kingston.   After a very brief business meeting, there will be an illustrated presentation entitled "Princeton Battlefield – New Discoveries and Future Possibilities" by Kip Cherry.
A Professional Planner, Kip Cherry is a member of the Princeton Battlefield Society and a member of the Society’s Consultant Selection Committees for its Battle of Princeton Mapping Project and its Clarke House Preservation Plan. She also was Co-Chairman of the Battlefield Society’s 1783 225th Anniversary Celebration in 2008.
Ms. Cherry’s illustrated presentation, entitled: "Princeton Battlefield – New Discoveries and Future Possibilities"   will cover new revelations on the progression of the Battle of Princeton, resulting from a  new study just being completed, which was funded by the National Parks Service under the Battlefield Protection Program; she will also touch on Kingston’s role at the end of the battle. She will then discuss various plans for the future of the Battlefield that include a new preservation plan for the Clark House, possibilities for land acquisition, further archaeological studies, a visitor center and more.
All are welcome; the meeting is free and open to the public.   Refreshments will be served.
