An employee with the Department of Public Works was transported to Somerset Medical Center after the radiator of the lawn mower he was riding on burst, and hot radiator fluid burned his arm at 1:31 p.m. today (Wednesday).
Nicholas Ivone, 19, was mowing the grass at the Triangle Football Complex on Triangle Road when the mower he was riding on apparently overheated, police said.
When it overheated, police said, the radiator burst and the fluid came into contact with Mr. Ivone’s right forearm and wrist.
Mr. Ivone was transported to the medical center by the Hillsborough Rescue Squad for treatment.
Responding to the scene for a report of a lawn mower on fire were the Hillsborough Township Police Department, the Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Unit 36 Fire Company and Hillsborough Township Fire Safety.
